Professor, SHBJJ

Place of birth: U.S.A

BJJ Black Belt

Jamie was born in New York City, was never particularly athletic, and was always very focused on his career in investment management. In 2006 he was introduced to Jiu-Jitsu at the Gracie Academy in Torrence, California. After just one class, he observed how the 'little guy' with Jiu-Jitsu could defend themselves against bigger opponents, and Jamie became fascinated with the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle.  Jamie received his blue belt at the Renzo Gracie Academy (RGA) in New York City, and continues to train at RGA regularly throughout the year.

Because of Tony Eduardo Lima and RGA’s philosophy towards Jiu-Jitsu, Jamie has developed a deep and technical style of Jiu-Jitsu involving multidirectional controls and attacks, which he continues to bring to the mats every day.  His depth of expertise has come as a result of continued research and inquiry into the most efficient, functional approaches to Jiu-Jitsu.

While training primarily in the Gi, all of Jamie’s competitive accolades have come in No-Gi competition - he has medaled at the Gracie Open in Long Beach, IBJJF in New York, and GCJJF in Shanghai.

Jamie has been a member of SHBJJ since it’s inception and is a black belt under Tony Eduardo Lima.
